Scheme for assistance to Research and Development activities

Who will be eligible?
- All Research & Development Institutions recognized by CSIR/DSIR or set up by GoG/GoI/Industrial Association.
- AICTE approved professional colleges, including autonomous as well as those collages affiliated to universities, taking up sponsored R&D work from industry and for sponsored contract research project.
Eligible Activities
- Setting up of new labs as well as for strengthening of exiting labs, set up with the assistance of State/Central Government.
- Technology upgradation, modernization, research and development, contract research, testing evaluation, information dissemination, training activities etc
- Strengthening, modernization and addition/ up gradation of existing facilities of Research and Development Institutions.
- Adoption of clusters to carry out Technology study, Contract Research and Development of technology, Quality improvement etc.
- Proposals for contract research from AICTE approved professional colleges, including autonomous colleges as well as collages affiliated to universities, taking up sponsored R&D work from industries
- Sponsored R&D contract research project proposals from Industrial associations or individual industrial enterprise.
- Other activities as decided by the SLIC.
Assistance available
- Assistance to R&D institutions / laboratories set up with State Government or Government of India including setting up of new R&D institutions /laboratories shall be provided as per requirement.
- Assistance to laboratories established by Industries Association with the help of Government will be up to 60% of the project cost for machinery and equipment cost.
- Assistance for Contract/Sponsored research work from any industrial enterprise/Industrial association to recognized R&D institution / technical collages approved by AICTE, will be considered @ 50% of project cost, excluding cost of land and building, subject to maximum Rs. 50 Lacs.

Procedure for sanction
- R&D institution will apply to the Industries Commissionerate, Gandhinagar in prescribed format.
- Scrutiny will be carried out at Industries Commissioner office with the help of expert and will make presentation to the committee.
- Disbursement of assistance will be made only after sanction of project proposal by the committee.
Procedure for disbursement
Disbursement of the amount as per the decision of the SLIC, after receipt of claim/consent by the applicant and subject to the availability of the fund.
