Procedure for Approval of Alcohol APP (Annual Production Program)

1. Name of Work

   A.P.P is approved to the Industrial Units which are utilizing alcohol as a raw material.

2. Government Rules

   1. The Bombay Rectified Spirit Rule – 1951, 12
   2. The Bombay Prohibition (Manufacturing of Sprit) Gujarat Rule – 1963, 20
   3. The Bombay Denaturant Spirit Rules 1959, 30 (4) (i) (ii).
   4. As per the Prohibition & Excise Department Letter Dt. 9/4/99.

3. Purpose of APP

   To provide alcohol regularly & easily to the pharmaceuticals & chemical Industries of the State which are using alcohol as a raw material.

5. Procedure to Apply

   Applicant has to apply Online to the Industries Commissionerate Portal www.ic.gujarat.gov.in and Printout of Application to be submitted with necessary Documents as per Checklist to IC Office.

Check List (Document to be Submitted with Application)

1. Process description with chemical reaction.
2. Flow sheet
3. Material balance for one batch & batch timing.
4. Theoretical requirement of alcohol per Kg. product.
5. Recycling of waste stream containing alcohol.
6. Possibility of recovery of alcohol from waste steam/vents
7. Any other solvents tried in place of alcohol, if yes, details of results obtained.
8. Detail list of proposed machinery with its capacities.
9. A copy of DGTD Registration/Industrial Licence/letter of intent/SSI Certificate (if registered).
10. Kind of Spirit and name of denaturant with proportional percentage.
11. If, application is of expansion please give annual capacity before expansion and after expansion, also a list of existing machinery and proposed machinery.
12. If unit is holding valid approval of production programme than details of each programme should be attached and detail progress report.
13. Production of alcohol consuming items and consumption of alcohol for last three years. (If the application for expansion purpose).
14. Consent letter /N.O.C. from Gujarat Pollution Control Board, Gandhinagar if the application for expansion purpose).
15. DRUG Licence with approval of formula from Drug authority.
